Overview

Orbtronics is seeking a highly motivated Innovation Community Manager to lead and grow our tech community while managing impactful events that strengthen the Caribbean innovation ecosystem. This role is designed for a connector, organizer, and strategist who thrives in building engaged communities.

As the Innovation Community Manager, you will be responsible for expanding the Orbtronics Innovation Community WhatsApp group, organizing tech networking and educational events in St. Lucia, and driving regional expansion. You will also be responsible for event impact reporting and ensuring that at least 200 participants annuallybenefit from Orbtronics’ initiatives.

This position is hybrid, meaning you will primarily work remotely but are required to attend meetings and events in person at the Orbtronics Innovation Hub, Rodney Bay Commercial Center L2, Gros Islet, Saint Lucia, on an as-needed basis.

Key Responsibilities

Community Growth & Engagement

  • Expand and actively engage members in the Orbtronics Innovation Community WhatsApp group.
  • Develop strategies to attract tech professionals, entrepreneurs, and students to the community.
  • Foster a collaborative and supportive space for knowledge sharing and tech discussions.

Tech Event Planning & Execution

  • Organize and host tech networking and educational events in St. Lucia, with plans for regional expansion.
  • Ensure at least 200 individualsbenefit from Orbtronics’ networking and tech events each year.
  • Identifyspeakers, partners, and industry experts to enhance event quality.
  • Handle event logistics, promotion, and execution to ensure success.
  • Attend and managein-person events at the Orbtronics Innovation Hub as needed.

Reporting & Impact Analysis

  • Collect demographic data from event attendees and maintain an updated participant database.
  • Prepare detailed post-event reports, including:
  • List of attendees (name, organization, role, demographic insights).
  • Key event outcomes (discussions, collaborations, business or tech developments).
  • Impact assessment (benefits derived by attendees, testimonials, success stories).
  • Submit reports to the CEO for review before sharing with stakeholders.

Ideal Candidate Profile

Required Skills & Experience

  • Experience in event planning & community management (preferably in the tech industry).
  • Strong communication and networking skills to build and maintain relationships.
  • Proficiency in using WhatsApp and social media platforms for community engagement.
  • Experience in data collection, reporting, and impact assessment.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple events and priorities.
  • Comfortable with attending in-person meetings and events in Rodney Bay, St. Lucia, as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in tech ecosystems, startup communities, or innovation hubs.
  • Background in business development, communications, or event management.
  • Knowledge of the Caribbean tech landscape and key industry players.

Compensation & Work Arrangement

  • Salary: $8,400 - $18,000 USD per year (based on experience & qualifications).
  • Work Setup: Hybrid (Remote with in-person requirements at Orbtronics Innovation Hub, Rodney Bay Commercial Center L2, Gros Islet, St. Lucia, on an as-needed basis).
  • Contract Duration: 1 Year (Renewable based on performance).
