Job Overview (Hybrid/Remote): 

As the Co-founder/Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at RifBid, an AI-powered e-procurement platform that bridges government entities with suppliers, you will be an integral part of a team renowned for its exceptional expertise and innovative vision. Our team boasts a diverse blend of experiences, including backgrounds from leading institutions such as MIT, Harvard Business School, and Microsoft. The leadership at RifBid has garnered international accolades, including Commonwealth recognition, accolades such as Caribbean Youth of the Year, inclusion in elite groups like Caribbean 35 Under 35 and the Forbes BLK community. In this pivotal role, you will spearhead our product architecture strategy, leading the development of state-of-the-art solutions while being immersed in an environment that values groundbreaking achievements and forward-thinking. Your contribution will be key to establishing RifBid’s position as a leader in digital procurement, as we continue to innovate and redefine the standards of our industry.  

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Define and implement the technology strategy aligned with the company’s business goals.  
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends to maintain RifBid’s technological leadership.  
  • Lead and mentor a dynamic team of IT professionals, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.  
  • Recruit, train, and retain top-tier tech talent, ensuring the team’s skills align with the company’s technology needs. 
  • Oversee the design, development, and deployment of AI-powered procurement solutions.  
  • Ensure the platform’s scalability, security, and efficiency, catering to the evolving needs of government clients and suppliers. 
  • Work closely with other departments to integrate technology solutions that enhance user experience and operational efficiency.  
  • Facilitate cross-departmental collaboration to ensure technology alignment with business objectives.  
  • Develop and manage the IT budget, ensuring optimal allocation of resources for maximum technological advancement.  
  • Implement cost-effective technology solutions without compromising on quality or innovation. 
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to provide updates on technological developments and their impact on business operations. 
  • Translate complex technical concepts into understandable language for non-technical stakeholders. 

 

Requirements: 

  • Deep understanding and hands-on experience with AI technologies, particularly in the context of e-procurement or similar platforms.  
  • Proven track record in developing and implementing cutting-edge software solutions.  
  • Extensive experience in leading, mentoring, and growing a diverse and dynamic team of IT professionals in high-stakes environments.  
  • Proven skills in recruiting, training, and retaining top-tier technology talent, aligning team capabilities with organizational needs.  
  • Strong background in overseeing the entire lifecycle of product development, from conception to deployment, with a particular focus on AI-powered solutions. 
  • Commitment to ensuring platform scalability, security, and efficiency, especially in serving government clients and suppliers.  
  • Ability to work seamlessly with various departments to integrate technological solutions that enhance user experience and operational effectiveness.  
  • Experience in facilitating cross-departmental collaboration to align technology with broader business goals.  
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities, capable of addressing and resolving complex technological challenges. 
  • Analytical mindset to evaluate, interpret, and leverage data for strategic decision-making. 
  • Flexibility and resilience to adapt to a rapidly evolving technology landscape and business environment.  
  • Ability to manage change and uncertainty effectively, maintaining focus on strategic objectives.  
  • A bachelor’s degree (minimum) in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications in relevant areas are highly preferred.  

 

Working Hours: 

  • Part-time position, with flexible hours to accommodate project demands and international collaboration. It is expected that the CTO will be willing to become a full time team member after a pre seed round of funding has been closed.  

 

Compensation: Cofounder Equity-split negotiable subject to terms and conditions.
