LaunchPad 2026 — Terms & Conditions

Agreement

These Terms & Conditions (“Agreement”) govern participation in LaunchPad 2026 (“the Program”), operated by Orbtronics Ltd (“Orbtronics”) in association with ecosystem and delivery partners including CaribEquity, Draper Startup House Caribbean, IDB Lab, and the European Union Global Gateway Initiative. By applying to or participating in LaunchPad 2026, participants acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agreed to the following terms.

1. Program Overview

LaunchPad 2026 is a founder idea incubator designed to support entrepreneurs across the Caribbean in transforming early-stage ideas into validated, profitable, and investment-ready business concepts.

The Program includes:

  • Hybrid training sessions
  • Mentorship
  • Founder labs
  • Startup validation activities
  • Workshops
  • Networking opportunities
  • Pitch opportunities
  • Online learning support

The Program is educational and developmental in nature and does not constitute investment advice, legal advice, financial advice, or guaranteed commercial outcomes.

2. Eligibility

Applicants must:

  • Be at least 18 years old at the time of application
  • Be citizens or residents of a Caribbean territory or CARICOM member state
  • Submit truthful and complete application information
  • Demonstrate interest in entrepreneurship, innovation, or startup development

LaunchPad is open to founders from all industries and sectors. Participants are not required to have a registered business to apply.

3. Application & Selection

Submission of an application does not guarantee acceptance into the Program.

Orbtronics reserves the right to:

  • Screen applicants
  • Conduct interviews
  • Evaluate founder readiness
  • Assess program fit
  • Determine final cohort selection

Selection decisions are final and may consider:

  • Founder commitment
  • Innovation potential
  • Participation readiness
  • Diversity of ideas
  • Cohort balance

Incomplete, misleading, or fraudulent applications may result in immediate disqualification.

4. Program Format & Participation

LaunchPad 2026 is delivered in a hybrid format, including:

  • Virtual sessions
  • In-person activities in Saint Lucia
  • Online collaboration
  • Mentorship engagement
  • Independent founder work

Participants outside Saint Lucia may fully participate virtually.

Participants are responsible for:

  • Maintaining reliable internet access
  • Attending scheduled sessions
  • Participating respectfully
  • Engaging in founder labs and assignments
  • Monitoring communication updates

5. Attendance & Completion Requirements

To qualify for an official LaunchPad Completion Certificate, participants must achieve:

  • Minimum 60% attendance
  • Minimum 65% assignment completion
  • Participation in at least 50% of Founder Labs

Orbtronics reserves the right to withhold certificates from participants who fail to meet the minimum participation standards.

6. Founder Conduct

Participants agree to:

  • Engage respectfully with peers, mentors, facilitators, judges, and partners
  • Maintain professional behaviour during sessions and events
  • Avoid harassment, discrimination, abusive conduct, or disruptive behaviour
  • Contribute positively to the founder community

Orbtronics reserves the right to suspend or remove participants whose conduct negatively impacts the Program or other participants.

7. Intellectual Property Ownership

All intellectual property, startup ideas, concepts, business models, branding, inventions, materials, strategies, pitches, or proprietary information developed or presented by participants remain the sole property of the participant or founder team.

Participation in LaunchPad does not grant Orbtronics, mentors, judges, facilitators, partners, or other participants ownership rights over participant intellectual property.

Nothing within the Program shall be interpreted as transferring ownership of participant ideas or proprietary information to Orbtronics or any affiliated party.

8. Confidentiality & Non-Disclosure

Orbtronics recognizes that participants may share sensitive startup concepts, proprietary business ideas, operational strategies, creative concepts, technical frameworks, financial projections, or confidential information during the Program.

Orbtronics, program facilitators, mentors, judges, and participating ecosystem representatives agree to treat confidential participant information with reasonable care and discretion.

Confidential information shared during the Program shall not be intentionally disclosed, copied, distributed, or commercially exploited without the participant's consent, except where:

  • Disclosure is required by law
  • The information becomes publicly available through no fault of the receiving party
  • The information was independently developed without access to the participant's confidential materials
  • The information was already lawfully known prior to disclosure

Participants are encouraged to exercise reasonable judgment regarding the level of confidential information shared publicly during pitches, networking events, workshops, or collaborative discussions.

9. Mentor, Judge & Facilitator Confidentiality Obligations

All mentors, judges, facilitators, advisors, and ecosystem collaborators participating in LaunchPad are expected to uphold confidentiality standards regarding participant ideas and proprietary information shared during the Program.

Participation in the program implies agreement not to intentionally misuse, disclose, replicate, or commercially exploit participant confidential information without authorization.

10. Collaboration & Shared Discussions

LaunchPad encourages collaborative founder discussions, networking, brainstorming, and peer feedback.

Participants acknowledge that:

  • Startup concepts may overlap across industries
  • Similar business ideas may independently exist
  • Participation in collaborative environments may involve open discussion
  • Orbtronics cannot guarantee exclusivity of ideas or concepts discussed during the Program

11. Mentorship & Guidance Disclaimer

Mentorship, guidance, workshops, and educational content provided through LaunchPad are intended for informational and developmental purposes only.

Participants remain fully responsible for:

  • Business decisions
  • Financial decisions
  • Legal compliance
  • Startup execution
  • Operational implementation
  • Commercial outcomes

Orbtronics does not guarantee:

  • Startup success
  • Funding
  • Investment
  • Profitability
  • Partnerships
  • Market adoption
  • Future accelerator acceptance

12. Media Release & Promotional Usage

Participants authorize Orbtronics and associated ecosystem partners to:

  • Capture photography, audio, and video content during the Program
  • Use participant names, likenesses, testimonials, and participation highlights for reporting, ecosystem storytelling, educational, and promotional purposes

Such materials may be used on:

  • Websites
  • Social media
  • Press releases
  • Reports
  • Presentations
  • Ecosystem communications

No confidential business information will be publicly disclosed without participant permission.

Participants may request exclusion from specific media activities where reasonably possible.

13. Program Modifications

Orbtronics reserves the right to:

  • Modify schedules
  • Adjust curriculum
  • Reschedule sessions
  • Replace facilitators
  • Change delivery methods
  • Revise program activities where necessary

Reasonable efforts will be made to communicate material changes in advance.

14. Technology & Platform Usage

LaunchPad utilizes third-party platforms for application processing, learning management, mentorship support, and communication.

Participants acknowledge that:

  • Third-party platform terms may also apply
  • Orbtronics is not responsible for independent platform outages or technical disruptions
  • Participants are responsible for safeguarding their account credentials

15. Limitation of Liability

Participation in LaunchPad is voluntary.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Orbtronics and associated partners shall not be liable for:

  • Business losses
  • Startup failure
  • Financial loss
  • Reputational damages
  • Missed opportunities
  • Indirect or consequential damages arising from Program participation

Participants assume responsibility for their own entrepreneurial and business decisions.

16. Withdrawal & Removal

Participants may voluntarily withdraw from the Program at any time.

Orbtronics reserves the right to remove participants for:

  • Misconduct
  • Repeated non-participation
  • Harassment
  • Violation of Program rules
  • Fraudulent activity
  • Actions that negatively affect the Program environment

17. Data Usage & Privacy

Participant information may be collected for:

  • Application review
  • Mentorship coordination
  • Ecosystem reporting
  • Partner reporting requirements
  • Communication purposes
  • Program evaluation

Orbtronics will make reasonable efforts to protect participant data and maintain responsible handling practices.

18. Post-Program Engagement & Impact Tracking

To help strengthen the entrepreneurial ecosystem and measure the long-term impact of the Program, participants are encouraged to share major business milestones achieved after completing the program. These may include, but are not limited to, funding raised, partnerships secured, business expansion, acquisitions, company sales, product launches, awards, or other significant developments.

Participants also acknowledge that Orbtronics may periodically share post-program surveys or request updates related to business progress, program outcomes, and ecosystem impact reporting. Participants agree to make reasonable best efforts to respond to such requests in a timely manner.

Any information shared may be used for internal reporting, program improvement, ecosystem development, and promotional purposes, unless otherwise requested by the participant.

19. Acceptance of Terms

By submitting an application or participating in LaunchPad 2026, participants confirm that they:

  • Understand these Terms & Conditions
  • Voluntarily agree to participate
  • Acknowledge the Program structure and expectations
  • Accept the confidentiality and intellectual property provisions outlined above
